Nylons are one of the most important items for packaging goods in industries. Among the industries that use nylon in packaging, we can mention the food, pharmaceutical, health, clothing, automotive, etc. industries. Product packaging is one of the most important stages of production. Today, manufacturing industries use industrial methods (stretch wrapping and shearing pack) to package their products. These types of packaging provide complete protection of products from external factors. The better these packages are done, the amount of damage to the products will be reduced and a healthier product will be delivered to the customer. In this article, we are going to mention various palletizing methods in the industry.
Packages are divided into three categories:
- Primary packaging: In this type, packaging materials are directly in contact with products such as food, medicine, etc.
- Secondary packaging: In this type, packaging materials are used to keep a group of products together.
- Final packaging: In this type, the products are stacked and packed in larger dimensions on the pallet. In the following, various palletizing methods are examined.
Packing on pallets
Pallets
A pallet is a flat structure on which one or a number of desired goods are placed and finally these pallets are moved by a forklift. These pallets are made of wood, plastic and sometimes metal.
Arrangement of goods on pallets
The goods must be stacked on top of each other in an orderly manner to avoid confusion and damage during transportation. The height of the arrangement of the goods on the pallet is an important factor that must be taken into account in order to prevent the products from falling during handling.
screw pallet
The next step after placing the goods on the pallet is securing the goods, which is known as the screw pallet. There are various methods for the strength of goods on pallets, among which we can mention the use of belts, chipboard, nylon stretch rolls and shearing, each of which is used for different products.
Packing with stretch film
One of the most important requirements for all kinds of industrial packaging is stretch film. Stretch film is a combination of light polyethylene in several layers, which increases its elasticity. The stretching power of the stretch film makes the goods stable on the pallets. High strength and speed and no need for heat have increased the desire to use stretch film in industries. The method of wrapping the stretch wrap around the goods on the pallet is very important because it must be in such a way that it provides full protection of the products. Packaging with stretch film is done in two ways:
Packaging with stretch film (Stretch Wrapper)
In small industries, the manual method is used, and in large industries, special stretch pallet devices are used. There are different types of stretch pallet machines, among them are gate stretch pallet machine, turntable stretch pallet machine, and airport stretch pallet machine. In manual palletizing, which is generally used in small manufacturing industries, stretch nylon rolls are wrapped around the goods by people. In large industries, the stretch wrapping method is mechanized and the stretch film is wrapped around the goods by machines.
Cover with stretch film (Stretch hooder)
This method is one of the latest packaging methods. In appearance, this type of packaging is similar to the Betdi package by Shiring film. But the stretch film used in this method is produced through the bubble process and from the combination of light polyethylene and thermoplastic and elastomer materials, and it is considered the most up-to-date film used in the packaging industry. This technology minimizes all types of damage to the cargo. In this method, the stretch film is placed on the product from above and stretched on the pallet. After opening the opening of the stretch roll, the film is stretched from four directions and covers the product. Compared to the Stretch Wrap method, due to the creation of an integrated cover on the products from top to bottom, protection from external factors is done better.
Packing with shrink film
Shearing film is one of the widely used products in the packaging industry, which is made of polymer materials. This film has the ability to shrink both in the longitudinal direction and in the transverse direction, and this shrinkage is caused by applying heat to it.
Covering with shrink film (shrink hooder)
Shring film is produced through the bubble process and from the combination of light and heavy polyethylenes in several layers to increase resistance, and it is widely used in palletizing all kinds of products in different industries. In this method, the sheeting film is stretched like a hat from the top of the pallet to the bottom on the products, and after covering the products by the film, heat is applied to it, which causes the film to shrink and stabilize the products on the pallets. This method, like stretch, is used manually in small industries and by machines in large industries.
